Browser settings? Browser tunings? File Management?
This week I learned how to zip files. Learning this actually helped at my work place. A co-worker requested I resend numerous files regarding a math skills series. I was excited to realize that the job would not take much time because of my new knowledge of compressing files and file management.
My computer knowledge has always been more or less "an understanding of the surface." I really had no idea about the inner workings of the machine or programs. This week I began to snorkle, so to speak. I learned about the"cache" in my browsing history. I had no idea that the computer saved previously visited sites and that I may not link to the most updated page because of that history. The tips and tricks section was also new to me. I have already played with the different tricks to find dialogue boxes and opening new windows...Although I could not get the font to change on the website. I was pleasantly surprised to see I have been taking advantage of the bookmark feature by having built my own favorites bookmark.
Overall, I was shocked to see that I knew so little about my computer, but I dived right in and have enjoyed exploring some of the different settings and features available to me. I do wonder what I have messed up though...

Hi
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny how we wonder what we may have messed up as we explore and customize?
I can really relate to that, although I find that usually everything is fine:-))
